Death: Vondel Switzer Samberson –¬†Vondel Switzer Samberson, who had lived in Pampa in the past, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, during the city of Canyon. He was 90 years old at the time of his passing. At the graveside rites that will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Borger, the Reverend Jarrod Neal, who serves as the pastor of the First Methodist Church of Pampa, will serve as the presider. In Clinton, Oklahoma, on August 9, 1933, Irene Hubbart and Dillard Hubbart became parents for the first time. They welcomed their son Vondel into the world.

She obtained her diploma from Leedey High School, which is situated in the city of Ledy in the state of Oklahoma. Eddie Switzer, who was only 16 years old at the time of their wedding, was the one who tied the knot with her on July 17, 1950. The year 1952 was the year that they moved to Borger, and she remained at that location until the year 2016. The year 1987 was the year when Eddie passed away. In addition, she was a member of the First Methodist Church and attended the Koinonia Sunday School Class while she was residing in Pampa. Her commitment to her family was unflinching, and she was a loving mother and grandmother to her kids and grandchildren. Vondel was a person who possessed a strong personality, but she was also a someone who was sympathetic and sensitive to everyone with whom she interacted. In addition to having a beautiful flower garden, she was also a creative person who enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and numerous other activities. It was her mother and father who passed away before her, along with her parents, her brother Wayne Hubbart, her great grandson Hayden Alexander, and her great granddaughter Rebecca Smith. Among her survivors are her three daughters, Debbie Smith of Pampa, Vickie Alexander and her husband Curt of Canyon, and Mickie Dawson and her husband Ronnie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her son, John Switzer and his wife Shirley of Florahome, Florida; nine grandchildren include Robin Meek and her husband Greg, Stacie Ramirez and her husband Matthew, Scot Smith and his wife Shelly, Kara Floyd and her husband Mark, Amy Archer and her husband Matt, Craig Alexander, Megan Switzer, Lindi Plummer and her husband Jeff, and Joshua Smith; 19 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
