Death: Joseph Laporte Obituary – Joe Laporte, a rock in our community and an inspiration to all who knew him, died away on March 30, 2024. His legacy will live on through the warmth and generosity he bestowed. His generosity shone brightly. Everyone who knew Alfred was blessed to have Alfred in their lives; he was a beloved spouse, father, grandfather, and friend. All of their lives were brightened by his presence. His untimely passing has emptied many people’s hearts, but they will find inspiration and strength in his legacy. Joseph Laporte was famously generous and would help anyone who asked for it. He never shied away from helping those in need. Many individuals who were fighting against homelessness and hunger benefited from his selfless volunteer work at the local soup kitchen. Many in our area found inspiration in his acts of kindness and charity, which they hoped would inspire them to do the same.

Alfred loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Along with his selfless labor, he was also active in other humanitarian endeavors. He always went out of his way to ensure that his family would have cherished memories to look back on, whether it was through planning family vacations or hosting Sunday dinners. Those around him were blessed with joy by his warmth, humor, and unwavering support; his love and memories will remain in the hearts of his loved ones forever. Alfred worked tirelessly at the local hardware store for over 40 years. His responsibilities there extended beyond those of a dedicated spouse and parent to include that of an employee. Because of his honesty, hard effort, and commitment to providing outstanding customer service, he became well-respected by both his colleagues and his clients. Everyone in town thought highly of him since he approached every task with a positive attitude and boundless energy.

Joe Laporte’s wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends are all very saddened by his passing. We mourn the loss of a great man, but we find comfort in knowing that his kindness and generosity will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Until you are finally at peace, Alfred, may the memory of you be a guiding beacon for all of us. The funeral service honoring Alfred’s life will take place on April 12, 2024, at St. Mark’s Cathedral, where he was a dedicated member for over forty years.

Starting at 10:00 AM, there will be a funeral service. Following that, a procession will be held to Evergreen Memorial Gardens for the burial ceremony. Everyone in the community, including friends and relatives, is cordially invited to attend this memorial service in honor of Joseph Laporte and to pay their respects. The visiting hours of Smith & Sons Funeral Home will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on April 10, 2024. The survivors of Alfred will have an opportunity to share their memories of him, offer condolences, and find solace in the company of others going through this difficult time. Everyone is warmly invited to join the Everett family in remembering and reflecting on their loved one.
