Death: Robert Winchell Obituary – On March 30, 2024, Robert “Papa” Laurence Winchell, who resided in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 82 years old at the time of his death. It was determined that the cause of death was complications brought on by a fall. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Norma Jean (Piers) Winchell, with whom he had recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. He delighted in the time he got to spend with his wife. Bob Winchell was born on September 20, 1941, in Winter Haven, Florida.

His parents, Laurence and Dorothy Winchell, had both passed away prior to his birth. Bob Winchell was named after his father. Whoever passed away before him was his brother Bradford, who lived in Boca Raton, Florida. He was the one who passed away. In the year 1959, Bob graduated from Brockton High School and obtained his diploma. Following his time spent serving in the United States Coast Guard, he was offered a position as a computer specialist at IBM, where he remained employed for a period of thirty-five years. He wed Norma Jean Piers on February 22, 1969, and the couple finally settled down in West Bridgewater, where they raised their three children.

The couple’s home was in West Bridgewater. The four things that everyone who knew Bob was aware of were his love for his family, his love for Jesus Christ, his sense of humor, and his dedication to his church and community. All of these things were known to everyone who knew Bob. In every location he visited, he made it a point to share the stories of his three boys, the artist, and the two math professors with the people he encountered. When he was given the opportunity to talk about them, about their wives, and about his fourteen grandchildren, he beamed with pride. He also talked about his grandchildren.

Jason and Melissa Winchell, who reside in West Bridgewater, along with their children Orilus, Jackson, and Moriah; Jeremy and Christine Winchell, who reside in Rehoboth, along with their children Faith, Nathanael, Grace, Arnaldo, and Alexander; and Jonathan and Ashley Winchell, who reside in Fall River, along with their children Josiah, Anna, Lily, Sophia, Noah, and Matthew. As of the time of Bob’s passing, his wife, Norma, was the only one he left behind. Additionally, he had a sizable number of cousins, nieces, and nephews in his family system.
