Death: Joe Renfro Obituary – Joe Renfro, an 82-year-old resident of Mount Sterling, passed away on the evening of Friday, March 29, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling. His parents, Blanche Garrett Renfro and Homer Renfro, had already died before he was born on February 14, 1942, in Madison County. His parents had only one child, and he was the only one. Joe spent his whole life working as a drywall contractor and farmer. He was also employed by a construction company. He took great pleasure in gardening, fishing, and preparing delicious meals. For a number of years, Joe coached the softball team for girls.

Additionally, he had an intense passion for collecting caps and pocket knives. On top of that, he was a collector at heart. Just recently, he joined the Eastland First Church of God in Mount Sterling, where he publicly declared his trust in the Lord. Since their marriage on November 18, 1974, Faye and Joe Floyd have been legally married and have spent the last 49 years building a family as a married couple. Joe and Faye Floyd’s marriage has lasted for 49 years.

He leaves behind a large family and many friends, including his wife Faye, his children Allen (Peggy), Samantha (Garry), Sophia (Huff), and Cindy Davis; his brother Mike (Phyllis) and sister Patricia “Pat” Bryant; his grandchildren Andrew Corey, Cooper, Seth, and Travis Renfro; his great-grandchildren Ryan, Layne, Colton, Adalynn, Kanon, Odin, Max, Branlee, Amelia, Noah, Grayson, and Ian; and a host of other relatives and friends. The following individuals passed away before him: his daughter Theresa Renfro; his brothers Bobby, Roy, Danny, Gary, Kenneth “Red” Hendrix, and Paul; his sister Henrietta Hutchinson; and his son-in-law Tommy Davis.

Out of his immediate family, no one had made it to adulthood but him. Gathering at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, located at W. Main Street in Richmond, Maryland, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., will be the funeral services. The event’s officiating preachers are Pastors James Hendrix and Johny Collins. Afterwards, the burial will be place at Richmond Cemetery. On Wednesday, starting at midday and going until sunset, the funeral home will welcome visitors. His niece Brad O’Donnell will serve as a pallbearer, while his grandsons Andy, Camron, Evan, Travis, Dakota, and Kanon will all be in attendance at the funeral. A number of people will be chosen in advance to serve as honorary pallbearers.
