Death: Clay Thompson Obituary – On Tuesday, March 25, 2024, at 9:10 a.m., Clay Thompson, who resided in Illinois, passed away in the state of Illinois. On September 25, 2021, he and Kayla Flynn exchanged their vows and became husband and wife. She is going to miss him very much. His parents, Paula Jo and Larry Joseph Thompson, as well as his daughter, Ella Marie Thompson, his grandmother, Jan Harden, his sisters, Elizabeth Rau (and her husband Benjamin) and Emily Powell (and her husband Charlie), his nieces and nephews, Margaret, Kaitlyn, William, and Joseph, his aunts, Connie Allen and Penny Snyder, his uncles.

Jeff Thompson (and his wife Rhonda) and James Murdock (and his wife Sheila), his father-in-law, Kenneth Flynn, and his special friends Billy and Brittany Carlton, will also miss him. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lori Harden, as well as his grandparents, Jr. and Phyllis Thompson, as well as Billy and Sharon Murdock. Clay received his Associate of Arts degree from Parkland College after graduating from Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School from the year 2013. In addition to his current position at Vermilion Valley Railroad, he had previously held positions as a diesel mechanic at the Local 841 Operating Engineer and for Travel Trailers.

He had a big heart and was known to everyone of his friends and family as a country boy redneck who enjoyed hanging out and enjoying a drink. He was known for his huge heart. In his life, he was the kind of person who never actually encountered a stranger and was capable of repairing everything he set his mind to. In addition to being a devoted family guy, he had a deep affection for his daughter, to the point where she had him wrapped around her finger. In addition to his passion for farming, he cherished his devoted dog, Lady. He will be remembered with affection by everyone who had the opportunity to interact with him.

Clay’s parents, his brother Brett Thompson, and his cherished dogs Lucy, Lucky, and Reno all passed away before him while he was still alive. He is survived by his sister, Peg Pauley, and her husband, Rick Pauley, who reside in Earling, Iowa; his nieces, Nikki Pauley and Luke Fouts of Dunlap and Tara and her husband Joe Gorden of Dow City, Iowa; his nephew, Derek Pauley and his fiancé Ashley Fox of Earling; his great nieces, Lexi and Gabi; and a large number of friends and family members.

Republican Baptist Church, located at 610 Republican Road in Clarks Hill, South Carolina 29821, will have a service on September 17, 2024, at three o’clock in the afternoon. The burial will take place at the church cemetery. Between the hours of 1:30 and 3:00, the family will be present at the church to greet friends before to the service. It has been decided that the Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home will be in charge of making the necessary arrangements.
