Carol Horniak Obituary (1955 – 2024), Wallingford, Died At VA Connecticut Healthcare In West Haven – Death Notice And Visitation

Death: Carol Horniak Obituary – On Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare facility in West Haven, Carol A. (Miles) Horniak, a lifelong Wallingford resident who had reached the age of 68, passed away. She was now 68 years old. She is the daughter of George Miles Ambert and the late Sylvia (Clayton) Ambert. Her mom and dad are no longer with us. Her mother followed in her father’s footsteps after he went. She came into this world in the city of New Britain on September 21, 1955. Carol served as a medical service specialist in the United States Air Force from the time she graduated from high school until her honorable retirement in 1979.

She then went on to become a licensed practical nurse and spent the remainder of her career caring for the elderly, working until she retired. Until she was old enough to retire, she kept working. Carol shopped for home furnishings and clothing with the goal of acquiring an all-occasion coat or jacket. She enjoyed doing it much since she wished she had a coat or jacket that could serve multiple purposes. Because of her personal ties to the Silver Pond Apartment, she thought it would be the best place for her to play Bingo. This happened because she had visited the residence. She found immense pleasure in playing Bingo at various locations throughout the years.

On top of that, Carol discovered that nothing made her happier than spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Carol leaves behind a son, Kristopher Horniak Sr., who lives in Cheshire; two daughters, Stephanie Barefoot and her husband John, also in Cheshire; and one grandchild, Kristopher Jr., along with Nicholas, Kylie, Noah, Brandon, and Madison; as well as a sister, Linda Petruzielo; a brother, George Miles; and a niece and four nephews. Brad Miles and Stanley Horniak, his siblings and her former husbands, had already passed away. Her family had all passed away, leaving her as the sole survivor.

Everything that happened here happened before she died. Her family will gather on Wednesday, April 3rd, at the Wallingford Funeral Home (809 N. Main St. Ext.) to pay their respects and welcome friends and relatives. In the morning, between ten and eleven, the visiting is supposed to take place. A funeral service will be performed at the funeral home on Wednesday morning at eleven o’clock. The gathering will be held in remembrance of the departed. The burial will take place in Wallingford’s SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery with full military honors as soon as the funeral service concludes.
