Death: Nannie Jones Obituary –¬†Writing to inform you of the demise of Mother Nannie Jones. It is with a great sense of sorrow and a humble submission to the will of God that I make this announcement. In addition to being the rose of our congregation, she was also the adored mother of our church. In spite of the fact that our hearts are crushed by her absence, our spirits are filled with joy because she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. Auntie Nannie She passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at her residence, where she resided at 1600 Waller Lane in Dry Fork, Virginia.

Kate Jones was 88 years old. She was the daughter of Ulysses Price and Bessie Taylor Price, both of whom passed away during her lifetime. She was born on February 8, 1936 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was married to Walter Lee Jones Jr., who passed away before her. The following individuals are among the survivors: four daughters named Sandra Scales (Tim), Cheryl Jones, Vickie Jones, and Crystal Jones; one son named Kenneth Jones; one sister named Bessie Tapley; six grandchildren named Stevie K. Jones, Jr., Zachary Jones, Jonathan Scales, Jason Scales.

Kennedy Jones, and Shumeka Brown; six great-grandchildren named Stevie K. Jones III, Veda Jones, Nora Jones, Jeremiah Hayes, Zamari Winchester, and Harmony Hayes; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Sgt. Stevie Keith Jones, Sr., as well as by four sisters, Lucy Fitz, Barbara Echols, Roberta Lovelace, and Rosetta Price, and by one brother, Ulysses Price (Mike).

There will be guests at the property that the family will be hosting. The funeral services will be performed at Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11 AM. The Reverend Marlan Glass will serve as the eulogist for the service. The burial will take place at the Waller Family Cemetery after the service. A visitation will take place thirty minutes before the service is scheduled to begin.
