Death: Julie Preston Obituary – Julie, who was 52 years old at the time of her passing, passed away in a calm and serene manner at her house on March 13, 2024. She was surrounded by her devoted family and ‘Fortified By The Rites Of Holy Mother Church’, which is located in Great Harwood. She was the adored and devoted mother of Caitlin, Lauren, and Ciaran, the much-loved sister of Garry, and the sister-in-law of Angie. She was also the wife of Sean, who loved and valued her deeply. Moreover, she is a niece, cousin, and daughter-in-law who is cherished by her family. Requiescat in pace, please.

After finishing her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Huddersfield University, Julie went on to earn her doctorate in Psychology from Lancaster University. Julie’s parents, Alan and Carole Walmsley, decided to raise her in Rishton. In the subsequent years, she was employed by the local health department as a clinical psychologist. Julie had a deep love for her work and enjoyed collaborating with her coworkers, which resulted in her acquiring a large number of friends. She was a devoted runner who was also a member of Running4CF.

She participated in park runs, 10 kilometer runs, half marathons, and she accomplished the London marathon on two separate occasions. Additional activities that she enjoyed doing included gardening and cooking, both of which she was very good at. Julie’s family vacations to Turkey, Florida, France, Donegal, and Kerry were some of the most memorable she has ever experienced. When she was at home, Julie was the most beautiful and loving wife and mother. She took care of her family, including her cherished cat Magic and her canine companion Suki.

She offered her children a shoulder to lean on and sound guidance to help them navigate the challenges that life presented them with. In addition to this, she was a friend who was compassionate and courteous, and she helped others get through challenging situations. Following the celebration of the Requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Clayton-le-Moors, the cemetery at Lee Lane in Great Harwood will be the location of the interment.
