Death: Betty Ferguson Obituary – Betty Ferguson, who resided in Grawn, passed away there. Wilfred and Marlene (Cheney) Morrison welcomed their daughter into the world in Portland, Maine. She was their daughter. According to Betty, the most significant aspect of her life was her family. As well as her children and grandchildren, she adored John, the man she considered to be the love of her life. Campouts and puzzles were two of her favorite activities. Crafting and crocheting were two of her other hobbies.

At the beginning of the 1980s, she started performing volunteer work at the Rape Crisis Center. In the end, she was hired on as an employee and remained there for a quarter of a century. A number of honors were bestowed to Betty during her tenure there, one of which being the Governor’s Excellence Award, in recognition of her work with a mediation program that provided victims of crime and/or their families with the opportunity to meet with the perpetrator. In addition, Betty was employed at the Whole Life Education Center, where she instructed individuals and groups on the process of repairing their lives and how the pursuit of forgiveness may facilitate this process.

Through her years of service to the community through counseling, teaching, public speaking, and being a relentless example of healing, recovery, love, laughter, and finding your own truth, she was also nominated by a friend and selected by Edinboro University to earn an Honorary Doctorate. This honor was bestowed upon her in recognition of her exceptional work in these areas. In addition to her five children and sixteen grandchildren, Betty is survived by her husband, Mark Morrison, who is married to Amanda, and their children Mikayla/Hunter, Joe, Matthew, Cassidy, Sandy, and Pierson; Amy Alexander, who is married to Shyann and Cameron; Jenny Munro, who is married to Jason; Richard Morrison, who is married to Logan and Olive; Thomas Morrison; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Paisley; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her parents, her significant other, John Eppley, her grandson, Ethan Morrison, and her sister, Mary Tester, all passed away before Betty. This includes her significant other. Funeral services will be held at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, which is located at 511 S. Garfield Avenue, Traverse City, Michigan 49686. The ceremonies will begin at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, April 4, 2024. After the service, the burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Interlochen. At the funeral home, visitation will begin at ten o’clock every morning and continue until the start of the services.
