Matt Goolsby Obituary, A Life Lived with Passion and Purpose – (1965 – 2024) Death Notice

Death: Matt Goolsby Obituary – The news of Matt Goolsby’s passing has left us in a feeling of sadness. We are aware that he is currently escorting his mother and father through the streets of heaven. Additionally, he enjoyed a cold Diet Coke and a bag of Doritos, as well as anything that had to do with the police and fire departments. An unexpected death occurred on March 24, 2024 for William Mathew Goolsby, who was 59 years old and lived in Camilla.

He devoted his life to bringing joy and happiness to his three lovely children, and he was a doting father to all of them. He spent many days renovating, painting, and laying wood flooring in preparation for Christmas, and one of his very final gifts to them was a complete room makeover. He did this well in time for the holiday season. His commitment to them was constant, as seen by the numerous journeys that lasted for an hour or more to attend dance recitals, cheerleading competitions, concerts, and sporting events.

On George Washington’s birthday, Matthew was born in Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was born on the same day. From the very beginning, he was a unique and exceptional individual. After graduating from Calhoun County High School, he moved into the Camilla Easter Seals Group home, where he remained for more than seven years. They gave him with outstanding service and showed concern for him. The “apartment house” that he lived in, which also offered a wide variety of excursions and activities, brought him a great deal of joy.

He went to Mitchell Baker Service Center for more than three decades, where he was cherished by many people and participated in a wide variety of creative activities, outings, and interactions with members of the community. He had a great time there. Because of the independence and comfort that these two organizations gave Matthew, the family will be obliged to them for the rest of their lives. Matthew took pleasure in everything that these organizations had to offer. Because Matthew was such a large teddy bear, he gave a lot of happiness to everyone who was around him.

Aside from having a great sense of humor, he was also quite quick on his feet. All things related to first responders, the Sheriff’s Department, the Fire Department, and Emergency Services were among his greatest passions. He was given the privilege of being appointed as an honorary sheriff’s deputy in both Baker County and Mitchell County, a position that he took very seriously. The Dukes of Hazzard was another one of his greatest passions in life.

He is survived by his sister, Kim Joye (Rusty) of Cades, South Carolina, as well as his brother, Carl Goolsby, Jr., who is married to Lisa and lives in Trenton, Georgia. On Thursday, March 28, at 2:30 p.m., the funeral services will take place in the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home Chapel, which is located at 410 E. Broad Street in Camilla, Georgia.
